ISOCOM's CSM100, as used in ESA's PROBA-3 Mission

The Proba-3 satellite was launched in late 2024, and we are thrilled to share that our CSM100 optocoupler is one of the key components of this mission.

The primary objective of this mission is to analyse the sun's outer layer to study significant outbursts known as coronal mass ejections, which can lead to electrical disruptions and potential failures in aircraft and satellites.

At ISOCOM, failure is not an option. Our customers rely on our transistor optocoupler family for space applications because of its proven reliability in managing noise interference, voltage spikes, signal degradation, radiation, moisture and humidity. Our optoelectronic components are engineered for dependability, designed to meet the challenges of space while providing protection against radiation.

The CSM100 transistor optocoupler is highly versatile, suitable for various applications, including:

- Power management systems

- Switching circuits

- Power supplies

- Data transmission systems

The CSM100 features an IR-emittng diode paired with a silicon phototransistor. It is a singlechannel optocoupler housed in a 4-pin LCC package, hermetically sealed, with a solder dip option available.

This optocoupler device boasts a high current transfer ratio, low input requirements, a compact outline for surface mounting, and can withstand test voltages of 1000 Vdc.

It has undergone radiation testing by ESA and NASA JPL at the University of Indiana’s Cyclotron Facility (IUCF) in Bloomington, with evaluations up to 150 krad TID and displacement damage testing up to 1 MeV x 10^13 using 200 MeV electrons.

We are committed to ensuring mission success in space for research and exploration. Our components will perform reliably under harsh conditions, transmitting signals rapidly while avoiding electrical breakdowns.
