This device is a single channel, hermetically sealed optically coupled isolator.  It is composed of a Gallium Arsenide infrared emitting diode coupled to an integrated high speed photon detector.  The detector has a three state output stage and has a detector threshold with hysteresis.  The three state output eliminates the need for a pull-up resistor and allows for direct driver of data busses.  The device is guaranteed to operate over a wide VCC range of 4.5V to 20V.

The CS5200 is being used in environments encountered by space applications. Package styles for this device include an 8-pin DIP package, with surface mount and solder dip options available.

Absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, electrical specifications and performance characteristics are identical for all units. Any exceptions, due to packaging variations and limitations, are as noted in the datasheet.
